Game 10: Photographic Stop

Photographic Stop

What you need to play

  • At least one child (but can be played in a group!)
  • An adult to be the "challenge master"
  • A cell phone with a camera (one per child, or shared in turns)
  • A stopwatch or clock
  • Imagination and keen eyes!

Objective

In each round, the child must run around the house or allowed space and take a photo of an object that fits the theme chosen by the adult — all within 30 seconds! At the end of the game, they must create a crazy (or brilliant!) story using all the photographed objects.

Rules

  • The adult chooses 5 themes, one per round. Examples:
    • A red object
    • Something made of metal
    • An object that starts with the letter C
    • Something that reminds you of grandma
    • Something old
    • Something used in the kitchen
    • A funny toy
    • Something that makes noise
  • Each round:
    • The adult announces the theme: “Take a picture of something blue!”
    • The children have 30 seconds to run, find, and take the photo.
    • When the time is up, the adult shouts: STOP!
    • Anyone who didn't take the photo in time loses that turn.
  • Important: children cannot photograph the same object — if they repeat, the point is nullified!
  • Repeat the process with the other themes until the 5 photos are completed.
  • After the 5 rounds, each child (or group) must look at their photos and invent a crazy, funny, or exciting story involving the 5 objects. It can be a spoken story, acted out, or even drawn!

This game stimulates quick and attentive observation, teaching the child to observe the environment with new eyes. Additionally, it works on creativity, memory, and narrative construction, all with very few resources and indoors. And the best part: everyone ends the activity with good laughs — and a gallery of very weird photos to keep as souvenirs!
